St. Mark’s Piano Class Overview

This class is intended to give students an introduction to the basics of playing the piano. They will learn correct posture and technique, the fundamentals of reading music, and how to play. Key concepts will be introduced such as developing the "language" of basic piano chords and the ability to change between those chords effectively. Students will then learn to play simple melodies and chords, and will receive an introduction to music history as well. Piano student’s confidence is fostered to increase their musical potential. Student’s concentration and memory will be improved. Additionally, piano improves hand coordination, sight-reading and listening skills.

Students will use the pianos provided by the school.
